Within a few short months the weather will begin to warm up and we will be well on our way to summer! We’ve had many summer brides in store over the past few weeks organising their bridal gowns and we have noticed some up and coming trends for this year’s summer weddings. We’ve listed three wonderful trends were tipping to be a big success for 2018/2019 summer weddings.
Bridal gowns with a fitted bodice and soft, floating skirt.
As any Queenslander would know the summer months can get steamy! Many brides have been favouring a lighter style of dress to keep cool during the season. A big trend for this summer are gowns with a fitted bodice and light skirt that accentuate the waist and have a feminine, flattering neckline!
Dainty lace and gowns that play with sheer transparencies are a favourite for summer brides. This style of top gives a very romantic, feminine feel in sync with the outdoor ceremonies and rustic venues common during this time of year.
Floating, soft skirts are perfect for keeping cool during a summer wedding. The many layers in a ball gown can sometimes be weighty adding extra heat that just isn’t wanted during a summer wedding. Lighter skirts are easy to manoeuvre and will remain comfortable throughout your entire day. A slimmer, flowing skirt when paired with a firm fitting bodice is very flattering to the figure.
Bringing the outside in.
Queensland’s natural landscape really comes to life during the summer months but so can the stormy weather. While some are willing to risk an entire outdoors wedding, a popular trend is often to bring the outside in! Decorating your reception area with lush green leaves, including trees in your break away space, and making seasonal plants a feature on the tablescape are great ways to do this!
If your getting married in a particularly scenic area then clear roof marques or venues with large, clear walls or windows are another great way to incorporate your surrounding whilst making your wedding day weather proof. The delicious, seasonal fruit of course! Team this with the fact that summer is hot and people will want a refreshing beverage, and you’ve got yourself an up and coming summer trend!
A fruity cocktail incorporating seasonal produce would be the perfect addition to a summer wedding! Ideally it could be served during the wedding party photos so the guests have something interesting to discuss and stay entertained while the bride and groom are absent.
